2017 In Review + 2018 Goals

Happy new year to you guys!!! 2017 was an up and down year, so many things happened so I wanted to do a little recap! I also wanted to share some goals I have for myself this year. I'm embarrassed to admit but I almost never set goals for myself so this year I decided to set reachable goals! First, let's look back on 2017

I started to take blogging seriously and made Austin go downtown with me to shoot 3 looks in one day! Some of my best photos are from those shoots!

We took the plunge and became Disney Annual Passholder's! (I will tell you why when we get to the month of May.) For a while we literally went to Disney every other weekend, it was so so much fun and we still love Disney!

I wore one of the prettiest dresses ever to go see Adam Sandler with Austin. This night was so much fun, I ran around St. Augustine in 4 inch heels and we laughed the night away seeing all of our favorite people from movies we watched as kids. (Lol, they are NOT kids movies, thats just when we watched them!)

I also did my first giveaway during the month of April, I can't believe it has almost been a year!

May was probably my favorite month of the year. Austin and I got Disney passes for a reason, we had multiple Disney trips planned and this was one of them! We saved from February to May for this trip so we could go all out and we did just that! We ate an amazing dinner at The Yachtsmen, spent was too much money on a below average buffet in Animal Kingdom, and got to see the new Magic kingdom firework show for the first time! This trip was seriously so much fun and one I doubt we will ever be able to do again anytime soon. (We were both living at home at the time and made more money than your average 19&20 year old. Very, very thankful for that!)

Austin and I also celebrated two years together during this month!

June was another good one, I bought my first car!

I don't remember much about this month (it is my least favorite month, ew hot weather) but we did take a trip to Disney with our favorite couple! It was HOT but so fun!

This month I got invited to my first ever blogger event! It was at the PDQ in Jacksonville and it was so much fun! It was a crazy day, I woke up early to drive home for Orlando just for this event. I barely had time to get ready but I did my makeup, threw my hair in a bun and was on my way!

We also went on a fun trip to Gatlinburg and we went zip-lining for the first time!

September was basically the month of hurricanes. We personally didn't suffer any damage so it was a nice few days being forced to discount from the world.

October, my favorite month every year, was a very hard month for me. Gretchen (our family dog) got sick this month and for some reason I had this feeling that it wasn't going to be good. I prepared myself for the inevitable for a good few weeks but tried to stay positive. I made sure she was comfortable, that she knew she was loved, and that she had the best last days if these were going to be her last days. When we got the news that she passed none of that preparing mattered, she was gone and I couldn't prepare for that. I won't get into sobby details (ok, anymore sobby details) but it was a rough few weeks, but it has gotten better. I pretty sure I speak for everyone when I say we miss her dearly and will never forget that sweet pup! (she was our first family dog that we got to pick as a puppy) I have no doubt that we will see her again one day, and I will be so happy that day!

Oh yeah, I also turned 21 in October (it did not feel like my birthday, that's for sure), or 2 I as the balloons say. At least my friends tried! Also, during my birthday dinner the power went out and we had to leave before even ordering, so, there's that.

Ahh, my favorite time of year again. This month was very relaxing we went to a cabin in North Carolina for a week and had a blast!

December went by way to fast and it was another big month for us. We drove 4 hours away to add to our family and pick up a 3 month old German Shepard puppy! We love Pilot and she is doing so well! The first weeks were rough and we were like what did we get ourselves into (seriously, haha) but she has gotten so much easier now! We love her, and can't wait for the years she is going to give us!

2017 was a whirlwind I had some high highs and some low lows but I am for sure ready for 2018! So, here are some of my goals for 2018!

1. Save money for a house down payment. This is a goal for me and Austin both, it's time to get serious about finding a place to live!

2. Grow my blog. When you try to grow your brand consistency is key so my goal is to post two times a week every Tuesday and Thursday. This fits perfectly with my schedule and I am so so excited to have a blog routine.

3. Stay organized. My parents will appreciate this one! My life can be so chaotic that when I have downtime the last thing I want to do is clean and organize. So each week I'm going to set aside one area to work on.

4. Set little goals throughout the year, even every week. This will help me reach big goals and even make room for new goals through out the year!

Thank you so much for following along through 2017 and I can't wait to see where 2018 takes us! I hope the new year is treating you well and that you are staying warm!
