Cranberry Apple Pie

Happy November! My favorite month is officially over but I'm not even sad because that means Christmas is coming! There are many reasons why I love this time of year but one of those is more baking. This past weekend I started trying new recipes and decided to bake a cranberry apple pie. The pie dish pictured above is from Target and was like 5 dollars! I love it because if you bake a pie to bring to a party or Thanksgiving dinner you can leave the dish as a gift!

Cranberry Apple Pie

Store bought refrigerated pie crust
5-6 Apples, whatever kind you like
lemon juice
2 cups fresh cranberries
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon (more or less depending on what you like)
Pinch of ground cloves
Pinch of nutmeg
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup cold butter
2 cups all-purpose flour, plus a little more
2/3 cup brown sugar
Cinnamon to taste

Step by Step
1. Peel and slice apples. As you slice add lemon juice to the apples so they do not brown right away
2. Once all the apples are sliced add in the cranberries, brown sugar, spices, and flour
3. Let the filling sit while you unroll the pie crust and place it in your pie dish, once everything is in place add the filling to the pie crust
4. Start to create your crumble topping. Start with one stick of butter and one cup of flour use a fork to break up the butter and flour. Add in the next stick of butter, cup of flour, and brown sugar. After this you will notice that it is not a crumble yet, add flour until you get it to your desired crumble consistency. Add as much or little cinnamon as you would like
5. Bake according to pie crust instructions. Remember to cover the top and sides with foil after 20 minutes
Happy baking!
