Things I've Learned So Far

In addition to the education you're actually paying for, you also learn a few additional things in college like:

Do not try to go anywhere in Orlando without having money for tolls. It'll cost you about
10 bucks to take 417 to Disney World. On a college budget? No thanks!

If you try to find a comfortable place to study (aka your bed), you will just end up taking a nap. Even if you're not tired.

Most of the time when free food is mentioned with an event the "free food" is candy.

You can only avoid Ramen for so long; it will eventually find you.

If you think a thunderstorm where you live is bad, come and sit during one in Orlando. The lightning is insane!

It's easier to dress like a bum, but you will feel SO much better if you take the time to actually get ready for class.

When going to class you should have 3 things: an umbrella, a winter coat, and shorts. (Seriously we can go through all the seasons in like 24 hours)

Squirrels on college campuses are not afraid. They will sit next to you, like a dog, and beg for food.

Also, while were on that topic, one day leaving the Student Union I saw a raccoon crawl out of a trashcan. A RACCOON.

But one of the most important things I've learned about is opportunity. In college, you're surrounded by it. It's crazy to think about how one little step, joining a club or taking a certain class, can have such an impact on your future. Most of the time we don't know what were doing, what we plan to do or how we're going to make our life work. However, it's comforting to know that soon we will know, and we will be able to look back and see how all those little leaps helped us create a life we love.
